Burnaby Youth Jazz Orchestra

Burnaby’s first community jazz orchestra for youth! Starting September 2026

Led by professional performers, Michael Klein and John Nicholson. The Burnaby Youth Jazz Orchestra is geared towards high-school musicians who are looking to further advance their skills and musicianship with other like minded players. Focus will be on engaging repertoire, improvisation and performance.

Rehearsals will take place at Brentwood Presbyterian Church, 1600 Delta Ave. in North Burnaby. Rehearsals will run from September to June with approximately 33 rehearsals in total and at least two concerts.

Fees: $35/rehearsal. Does not include instrument rental. If instrument rental is required, information can be shared by band leaders upon successful admission to the band.

All high-school students are welcome to audition. Audition requirements will be sent during the summer and auditions can be submitted as audio or video files. More information will be provided soon.
